Meet the Fam!

At Miss D's Honey, we live in our own little fantasy world of Hallmark level cheer. We spend many days working tirelessly to create beautiful products that taste as good as they look. To really know us, you have to know our family.

ROLL CALL!
Hey y'all! I'm Jocelyn (but you may know me as the "Queen Bee"). Many people believe it was my idea to start this little insect ranch, but that is about the farthest from the truth. One morning, I woke up to a belated birthday present from my Uncle Jerry.  He had beautifully wrapped boxes in pink, green, and purple taffeta in the back of his pickup. As I got closer the boxes started buzzing and I realized that I had just been put in a very sticky situation.

As frightening as this new endeavor was, I loved every moment of owning a small business. Now 7 years later I've graduated from FFA and landed in the "big city" for college. I've stepped back into a less hands-on roll but continue to get the "best of both worlds" with the help of my AMAZING family.

Mrs. Keeper. Many know her, and all who do, love her! She is the mother of the "Dvorak Herd" and works full time for Miss D's as CFO, Head of Manufacturing, and Director of Educational Development. Although a busy bee with many hats to wear, her favorite people call her "Mom". Her secret talent is her writing abilities which she has had since she was very young. As children, we would listen to her tell us bedtime stories as she tucked us into bed. Now she is the creative and witty voice that makes up the characters you will hear from if you subscribe to our monthly curriculum letter.

Mr. Keeper, also known as "That man in the middle of a field with a mustache and a weird hazmat suit thingy!"  After he gets home from his full-time job, finding him outside of his bee suit is almost a rarity.  He cares for over 100 HIVES at Miss D's (good thing he is OBSESSED with his job). Mr. Keeper serves as COO and local bee wrangler and will NEVER run out of fun facts to share about these inspirational little insects.

MR and MRS Keeper :)    Just a few years ago...

Saved in my phone as "Tay toy" because I keep forgetting to change it, she is the only brunette child of the Dvorak Clan. This woman is a POWERHOUSE of what I like to call "brainability" and truthfully, would rather be reading at any time. Right now she is pursuing her dreams of studying Biblical Archaeology near Chicago and helps with anything she can remotely. Maybe after she's done with her PhD she will join our writing team (fingers crossed)...

Taylor and I Cerca 2010

Shhhhhh, Do NOT let Brooke know you think we look alike. PSA: she is NOT my twin and wants EVERYONE to know that. Despite the gorgeous face we seem to share, she is unique in every way and really brings a zest to life that is unmatched. She is amazing at everything she does and is our heavy lifter (because y'all, bee boxes weigh a ridiculous amount). Thank goodness she loves her weightlifting classes.

The two youngest ones are a hoot and a half, and spend a lot of time with dad in the bee yard. Bailey loves to make reels for our social media and Orrin loves being an official taste-tester.

Bailey and Orrin...

THIS GIRL... knows how to SELL HONEY. Bailey is our wild card, our excited child, and our self-proclaimed best saleswoman ever.  "Chief of Sales" she may be as she is strong-willed, VIBRANT, and ready to take on ANY task.

(Proof she has been trying to run this place since day one)

And last but not least, the only boy in this herd of kids, Orrin. He is always ready to work bees and is the youngest sales rep I've ever met. Full of funny jokes, and so much laughter he is the first to taste test and the first to fall asleep on the way home from shows!

This is our clan. We do just about everything together and our dream is to spread the love of Jesus, family, and agriculture everyday with what we do. We are blessed beyond measure. Our hope is to work together to serve you and let you experience new things through our work. At the end of every day, we count our blessings and your smiles. Thanks for being here, we hope you stick around :)
